Think you have seen all the star car movies?

By Nate Truman

Since the 1970’s I’ve been an avid “star car” fan, builder, and collector.  I’ve spent way too much time researching, and enjoying movie and TV cars as my main hobby.  With a career in TV and films, I have had access to many of the screen used cars and spent many years on the backlots of studios looking under tarps and finding out little tidbits of info on these stars of the screens with wheels!   Today, with the advent of “Google search”, most everything you may have a passing interest in can be answered almost instantly but not everything comes up on some of the older or less “famous” movie and TV vehicles.

So today I’m just going to publish a small part of my “blog ideas” list, and see what you and other Star Car fans want to read about, and it can also be used as a check list if you want to see a film that also features a cool ride!  Leave a comment on which car you want to see a blog about, and I will dig though my files and share my “analog” info along with what I can gather from my star car pals!

The Return of Xander Cage’s xXx GTO Flame Car!

The Return of Xander Cage’s xXx GTO Flame Car!
xXxGTO15_SunsetRGB~LR
Fans of the ‘xXx’ movie series were pleasantly surprised earlier this
year when, fifteen years after we were first introduced to Vin
Diesel’s “Xander Cage” and his high-tech, color-shifting secret agent
gadget car, we got to see this very same 1967 Pontiac GTO make a
brief cameo appearance in the latest installment, ‘xXx: Return of
Xander Cage.’
Pontiac owner and historian Thom Sherwood was on hand in Toronto,
Ontario this past April for filming with the GTO Flame Car and got to
hang out with the cast and crew.
“It was yet another amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Thom
revealed. “It was so fun to observe the whole big-budget movie making
process. This time it was shot digitally, in IMAX 3-D, with a new
director, new technology…”
But this was actually the second time his Flame Car has been filmed
internationally.
“The original film was done in the Czech Republic back in 2002,
during a whole different lifetime, it seems. The GTO got lots of
screen time back then, flogging the back roads through small villages
just south of Prague.”
“It was quite an unusual sight for the locals. None of them spoke
English, and they certainly had never seen a big, purple American
muscle car like this roaring through their narrow streets. I’ve since
gone back to the little village of Drhovy — where that crazy potato
cart explosion scene was filmed — looking for locals to share their
memories. There was only a lot of nodding and smiles.”
xXxGTOFlameSide_Weir~LR
“In that movie’s finale atop the famous Charles Bridge in the middle
of Prague, the GTO got what I, for many years, thought would be its
last few seconds of screen time. So, when the production company in
Canada called last year to ask if they could use my car again for the
newest ‘xXx,’ I couldn’t say yes fast enough!”
Fortunately, he had kept the now forever-roofless car in the exact
same condition and appearance as when it appeared in the closing
frames of the first film, even keeping the exact same set of
BFGoodrich tires mounted along with most of the special effects
hardware originally installed by the studio.
This proved advantageous for everyone in 2016 when the script for the
new ‘Return’ film required the car to appear exactly the same —
unchanged, as if it had been in hibernation — since the original Vin
Diesel spy adventure in Europe.
“The only thing we discussed that would be different was a change in
the license plates since the newest film sees the GTO being reunited
with Xander Cage in Detroit,” Thom shared.
xxx rockets
“In retrospect, I would have preferred if they (the Canadian
production crew) had kept the iconic “KY 29-0” Euro license plates on
the car, but they really insisted it should have Michigan plates to
help explain the car’s current location after fifteen years. In the
end, however, they filmed the car just from a front and side angle
without any license plate mounted up front at all! Oh, well…”
“First thing I did when I got the car home to Tucson was to put the
European plates back on. Then, a long-overdue set of fresh (and
safer!) BFGs was finally installed prior to a photo session that led
up to the red carpet event in Hollywood earlier this year.”
Today, Thom actively shows the car at various venues, and with all
the commotion from the release of the newest ‘xXx’ film and DVD, he’s
been quite busy.
xXxGTOFlameIntOverhd~LR
One big date on his summer calendar includes a fun gig in Texas. The
Pontiac-Oakland Club, International (POCI) will be having their
annual convention and car show in Fort Worth at the Texas Motor
Speedway in July and, as a special promotion with co-sponsor Ames
Performance Engineering, Thom will be giving some lucky ‘xXx’ fan a
ride around the banked oval NASCAR track in the Flame Car. (This
contest, which is open only to members of the club, is  also a
prelude to his multi-media “Secret Agent GTO: The Pontiacs of ‘xXx'”
presentation there on July 13, 2017. For more information, visit
http://www.poci.org.) If you go, stop by and give Tom a “HI!” from StarCarcentral.com!

Here’s a transcript of an interview Thom did about his GTO:
ThomSherwoodxXxPromo17a~LR
2017 marks the  50th anniversary of Pontiac’s legendary 1967 lineup
of Wide-Trackers. It also marks the 15th anniversary of Vin Diesel’s
blockbuster hit film ‘xXx’ which first introduced us to “Xander Cage”
and his high-tech, flame-throwing, color-shifting GTO Flame Car.
This car, with its crazy, hypnotic cache of instruments, spy gadgets
and weapons, has dazzled millions of fans worldwide, but we suspect
that not everyone may be familiar with its legend. For the
uninitiated, here’s an interview with Flame Car owner Thom Sherwood.
Q: What exactly is ‘xXx’ and just what does it mean?
A: When you say “Triple-X,” you’re actually referring to a franchise
of spy-action films (of which three have been made thus far) and the
main characters within those stories. Just as James Bond is referred
to as one of the “Double-O” agents in Ian Fleming’s British spy
novels and films, here we’ve got an American equivalent with a kick-
ass attitude and some street smarts!
Q: When did this franchise start?
A: The very first ‘xXx’ film debuted fifteen years ago (August 2002)
with Vin Diesel in the starring role. It actually did very well at
the box office, but was followed-up three years later with a related
sequel entitled ‘xXx: State of the Union’ (2005) where actor/rapper
Ice Cube becomes the next Triple-X agent.
Then, after many years and a couple of false starts, the ‘xXx’
franchise was re-booted just this past year with Vin Diesel returning
in the lead role for the highly-anticipated ‘xXx: Return of Xander
Cage.’ That film was released in theaters worldwide at the beginning
of this year (January 2017) and, by the time you read this, it will
have just been released on DVD to rent (RedBox, iTunes, OnDemand,
etc.) or to purchase at the big-box stores (BestBuy, Target, WalMart,
etc.)
Q: Just how similar is this to a James Bond film?
A: Very similar, actually, but the whole spy film genre has become
very formulaic ever since the success of Bond’s Goldfinger back in
1964. The original ‘xXx’ film’s tagline (“It’s Time for a New Breed
of Secret Agent”) was obviously a direct poke at the apparent aging
and stiff manners of James Bond’s character, but the expected girls,
guns, and global domination ethos remains very evident. What is
different in ‘xXx’ is that the secret agents here are supposed to be
more a bit more hip and edgy, well-versed in extreme sports action,
and have a penchant for a particular split-grilled American muscle car.
Q: Oh, so that’s how your GTO got involved! Does your Pontiac appear
in all three of the ‘xXx’ films?
A: No, it is introduced in the first film from 2002 as Vin Diesel’s
“hero car” to help his character ultimately save the world from the
evil villain’s twisted plans.
In the second film from 2005, Ice Cube’s Triple-X character also
drives a ‘67 GTO, but it is intended to be (and most certainly is) a
completely different Goat — totally blinged-out!
Then, in the newest film which debuted earlier this year, my car
returns for a brief but important cameo role, appearing exactly as it
did in the closing frames of the first ‘xXx’ fifteen years ago while
helping tie-together the seemingly disconnected plotlines of the two
earlier films.
Q: What makes this car so unique and why is it called the “Flame Car”?
A: Well, when  you talk about spy cars, you know there are going to
be all sorts of gadgets and weapons on board. The GTO that you’ll see
in Fort Worth is the actual car from the film that made all those fun
special effects — or “gags” — really happen on screen. None of that
stuff was computer-generated. This car really did shoot flames from
its custom hood scoop and fire rockets from the upper headlights!
Then there’s the crazy gauges and dashboard…
Q: Is the car street legal? I imagine you’ve gotten some interesting
looks!
A: Yes, it is fully street legal, and I do occasionally drive it to
local Pontiac club functions or cruise nights. But, I’ve got to be
extra careful… Once, when I was driving on a busy multi-lane road,
a person pulled alongside my car in the adjacent lane and became so
transfixed — just staring at the GTO and all its lights and gauges —
that he began drifting off into another lane of traffic. He came
within inches of sideswiping some hapless guy in a BMW!
Q: Is it a real 1967 GTO convertible, or maybe a Pontiac LeMans “clone”?
A: That’s actually the most frequent question I hear. Yes, it is a
real “code 242” GTO with its original 335hp 400-cubic-inch Pontiac
V8. But, it is not a convertible; it began life as a genuine GTO
hardtop built at the Fremont, California plant.
One of the gags seen at the end of the first ‘xXx’ requires Vin
Diesel’s character to eject himself from the car with a parachute.
But, to do that, his GTO has to first shed its hardtop roof. And as
you might know, the quarter panels on a Pontiac A-body convertible
look completely different. So, in order to maintain proper continuity
throughout the film, the production crew knew that they had to
utilize a hardtop model to accomplish this gag. What all this boils
down to is that the Flame Car is now best described as a roofless
hardtop.
Q: What can the folks expect when they attend your “Secret Agent GTO”
seminar on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Fort Worth?
A: I’ve done countless hours of research on the xXx GTO legacy and
have collected all sorts of fascinating behind-the-scenes stories,
photography and trivia that I’ll share with the audience there. I
certainly hope my enthusiasm for all this will prove to be
entertaining while providing some unique insights to the whole big-
budget filmmaking process. I’ve got lots of fun and fresh material to
reveal in Fort Worth — especially since the release of the newest
‘xXx-3.’ Plus, it’s always fun to do a “show and tell” with all the
cool spy gadgets. The best part of this is that it all focuses on
your favorite brand of automobile — Pontiac!
Q: For anyone who hasn’t yet seen any of the ‘xXx’ trilogy, what
would you suggest?
A:  Back when the first ‘xXx’ was originally released on DVD, about a
gazillion copies of that disc were sold to the public, so today, you
can easily find a used copy of it on eBay for less than $5.00
including shipping.
After you’ve watched the film, go back to that DVD’s Home Menu and
peck around there to watch some of the fun “extras” that accompany
the film — especially the 10-minute featurette called “The Vehicles
of ‘xXx.'” What’s highlighted there is the very same Flame Car that
you’ll see in the flesh — minus Vin Diesel, of course — in Fort Worth
from July 12-15, 2017!

Before star cars, there were the cars of the stars!

Before star cars, there were the cars of the stars!
by Nate Truman
Often times at auto events I am approached with owners of a different type of “CarStar”, cars that were
once owned by a famous person.  As cars and stars have long been connected even before the “golden age” of movie and TV
customs (60’s through the 80’s) still the link between a memorable face from the films and a unique or special car started long before that.
Below is just a sample of press photos taken of the famous stars from the start of the film industry up to the 1940’s.
No commentary needed, if you don’t know who they are you can Google them!  So here’s a walk through the start of the Stars and their cars,
that later Hollywood and TV land finally figured out was a winning combination and took it a step further, and made the cars “Stars” in their own right!  Enjoy!
Paulette Goddard, getting into her husband’s (Charlie Chaplin) Rolls-Royce Phantom II
Some 20s glamour:

And now – to 30s and 40s!

SUPER STARCARCENTRAL FRIENDS! MONSTER JAM IN ANAHEIM THE WAIT IS OVER FOR THE WORLD PREMIER MOVIE!

What exactly is “starcarcentral.com”? that’s a question I get all the time.  Well, basically it’s a moving event/charity/party I have been putting on since 2003!

This video was shot at the Monster Jam truck show, where the star car owners met the fans, then took to the mud in the arena at Anaheim Stadium!   Special thanks to Charger Steve (he’s in the cowboy hat and was too busy to pose with his Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am or General Lee that day) and to all the great guys and gals who came out to the party!  We appear as an attraction at many charity events around So. Cal., on TV shows and videos, commercials and the freeways!   Check this blog and starcarcentral.com international on facebook for updates on future appearances. Contact me at  info@starcarcentral.com if you want to join up!

Jurassic Park Explorer is here to stay in the Star Car Central.com team! Collegehumor.com makes a parody!

Some guys figure out haveing a recognizable movie car is fun quickly, others take more time!  Stephen is mainly an off roader enthusiast who had painted his explorer rock climber like the driverless trams made from Ford Explorers for Jurassic park.  After a couple of appearances with the Starcar Central gang, and oh yeah, a movie company wanting to give him money to point cameras at it, he’s decided he’s gonna leave the paint just the way is!

Now his weekend rock climbing toy is suddenly a celebrity!  It will be appearing in a Jurassic Park Parody Movie on collegehumor.com check the site often!

The plot was to reenact the scene where the lawyer gets eaten. The lawyer in this version realizes he’s not really important in the story, so everyone pretty much throws him to….well the T-rex.  Apparently they  secured Martin Ferrrero who played the lawyer in the original movie, and he had not acted in 10 years!  The shoot took place on a private residence up in Topanga Canyon. It was really interesting for Steve because to do it he had to ask his new boss on his 2nd week of his new job for a day off. Luckily the owner is the daughter of a big Hollywood Producer so she was understanding.

So it ended up being an all day shoot.  Steve got to meet Martin Ferrero (yes he had him sign the truck), They ended up using another truck for all the interior shots because of his roll cage being in the way and used Steve’s Truck for all the exterior shots. Overall a very rewarding experience. The film is due to come out in early Aug.

Then after that in Burbank, Steve participated in the City of Burbank’s “Party of the Century”. He was asked to be in front of Universal Studios City Credit Union with a 18′ Animation T-rex  while they played the original movie in the background. (Too bad Ari’s Jurassic Park Jeep was still in the shop!) There were a crazy amount of people, and Steve learned a lot from doing this event. He had a family that decided that it would be ok to climb up on his hood and take pictures! Seriously? Yeah, people – famous movie cars are not jungle gyms.  You can go climb on Monster trucks, not movie cars.  Welcome to the lime light, Stephen!  (I think he likes it!)

Montery Park plays host to StarCarCentral in Parade! Let’s ROLL!

May 21st was the City of Monterey Park’s “Play Day Parade and Carnival”. Lots of marching bands a marching, drill teams a drilling and horses a pooping and a call went out to Nate Truman’s StarCarCentral.com group to show up and Rock the HOUSE!
‘KITT!  TURBOBOOST, QUICK!!!”
KITT may be impervious to harm, but he was still seen navigating around horse manure!  Lot of fun in the sun and cool covered parking for the Star Cars of the day. This new Star Car Central event was organized and coordinated by “Starcarcentraloid” Jason “Buckaroo” Ybarra (Transformer Ratchet). Jason did a great job in putting a group together for this event in a very short time. A special thanks goes out to Jon Merker (Bumble Bee Transformer) for providing the Stanchions and for being the only guy tall enough to plug our electrical cords in the outlet that was located approx. eight feet high.

Star Car Central, ROLL OUT!

A big bunch of  Star Car Central rolled out for the Montery Park Parade this year!  ROLL CALL:  Here was the line up!  Jason (Ratchet Transformer van), jon  (Bumblebee Camaro),alex (KITT from Knight Rider) with his boy “Will I Am”,Oscar (Magnum P.I. Ferrari)

Tony (Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am) , Paul “The Banner Boy Guy” and Reba “Clara” Parkinson (Back to the Future Delorean). We all met at Mcdonalds then cruised to the parade route.  At the main booth they announced the driver and the cars over the loudspeaker. From there we ended up at the park where the carnival was going on. David Barron, the Monterey park city clerk ( Jason’s  former neighbor) set the gang up with a nice place to display our cars, treated all of us to shakeys pizza and drinks. We were even announced durring the awards ceremony and star car central.Com won a 1st place trophy!

The Autobots were taking charge!

It was a stop and go parade, mostly marching bands and drill teams.  High light for Oscar and his Magnum Ferrari was when he  was announced as the Hawaii 5-0 car when he pass the grand stands! NICEEE. Kids today, they need to watch more classic TV!
Oscar also coined a new term,  “starcarcentraloids”   we shall see if it sticks!    Everyone had a great time,  except Nate, who wasn’t there.  Next, other events Nate didn’t go to.
🙂  But soon, I will be back on the road with my gang of cool dude and dudettes in the sweetest rides ever seen on screen!~  Thanks to Jason for a quick parade! Great job guys!

Batmobile design contest winner! Batman gets a new set of wheels

Everyone knows the coolest set of batwheels is the original TV style crimes stopping machine featured in the 60’s TV series. (Yes, I am biased, but I am also right!)   But everything eventually needs to be redesigned and updated, right? So a website dedicated to car design put out a contest to see what artist thought the next Batmobile should look like!

As seen in a previous post, the batmobile has had a lot of different looks.  With the third Dark Knight movie in the works there is also a lot of internet chatter about what the next batmobile will look like in the next installment, after the Tumbler was destroyed in the last movie.  Here are a few ideas artists have come up with for the future set of wheels for the worlds greatest detective! These are all submissions to a contest for a new batmobile design. If you want to read more about the contest, you can go HERE but if you just want to see the cool designs, read on!

Let me know which one you want to be Batman’s next Crime stopping transportation! Click on the smaller photos if you want to take  a closer look!

Each design is a unique look at form and function for a man with a quest that requires both elements to be incorporated into his “daily driver”!

There were many submissions but only one could be the winner.  See if you can pick out what was chosen! Here’s a hint, it has design elements from the most famous incarnation of the batmobile!
So you made it to the end, and now you want to know the winner? Well, I did give you two pretty big hints!  First, I said it looked like the most famous batmobile, which of course is the TV series classic!
Then, I also posted the winning design bigger than all the rest  at the top of the blog!  🙂  Hey, you still had fun looking at cool car designs no matter what. TO THE BATMOBILE!!!!

SCC on TMZ at Comikaze Party! Rain, towtrucks and starcar crashes!

Last Friday night in the worst rain and traffic I have been a part of in years, three intreped StarCarCentral.com members braved the weather and conditions to support GAMERS UNITED.

Harvey Levin’s TMZ TV show had a camera crew at the Beverly Hills event for the first L.A. ComiKaze Comic Con party where three SCC members came to support the cause of the night, giving out comic books and video games to sick kids!  Michele Rodriguez was a celebrity guest and was really sweet to all three of us, she loved the cars!

Nate and Paul caught by TMZ

Jon Bumblebee, Paul BTTF, and Nate Knight Rider all braved the rain and REDONKULOUS traffic but all got there before the party and the rain started.  Various camera crews were on hand to cover the party thrown by Regina Carpinelli CEO Comikaze Expo and was held at her art gallery “The Celebrity Vault”  at 345 North Canon Drive Beverly Hills,Ca 90210 that specializes  in celebrity and rock and roll star limited edition photography.

A donation of comic books or cash and an invitation got you into the party, but there was only room for three stars outside: Bumblebee from the Transformers, Back to the future Delorean and KITT from Kinght Rider were parked out in the elements!   The buzz and photography around the cars was non stop through the night, but after a few turns in front of the camera we went next door and the three of us had a New York Style Pizza and caught up on a few stories!  After some more rain and a few more times lighting up KITT for the cameras I decided it was time to go home, as Monster Jam was the next day.  Kitt had other ideas!  It let out a terrible sound and the starter decided it didn’t want to play any more! So what does every good Knight Rider do in that situation? TURBOBOOST!!!!

"TURBO BOOST? I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE START BUTTON!"

Actually, I just called AAA and they sent out a tow truck to take KITT back to the Knight Industries repair truck.

Paul and Jon stayed a while longer while the paparazzi never stopped taking photos of KITT even while being loaded on the truck!

I got KITT safely home, dropped him in the driveway and got the A-Team van out for Monster Jam the next day.   (see previous blog!)

Sadly it was Paul’s turn next to have some bad star car incident, he made it fine to the Monster jam the next day, but on the drive home hit  a stalled truck in the road and tore up the side of his BTTF car!

When you play with your toys, stuff like this happens!  Luckily the F.L.A.G. mechanic was over on Monday (aka Alex!) and had a new starter in KITT in no time flat and we went out for a nice lunch all before noon!  That man has skills and connections! But I don’t think he can get Delorean stainless panels.

Here’s a look at Pauls car before the accident.   I am not sure I want to see what it looks like now! 😦

Paul vows to be all back together and rolling by our next event!  Many of your favorite star cars will be on display in November at www.comikazeexpo.com

TMZ was also at another SCC event but didn’t get any of the Knights of the West Coast on Camera on Valentines day.  A few fans of the Hoff showed up with Knight Rider stories for a new series where stars trade places with celebrities who have their same name!

David Hasselhoff looks different! (click the link to watch the TMZ video)

2010 Camarillo Christmas Parade brings out the STAR cars!

You may have seen a police car in your rear view mirror at some point, but I think this is the first time Herbie the Love bug has almost been pulled over by Starsky and Hutch!

Once again Nate Truman’s StarCarCentral.com gang gathered to participate in the Camarillo Christmas parade! We were almost rained out last time, but this time it was practically a trouble free event!

We all lined up in the morning and most everyone found the starting line, Alex and Oscar decided to go to the end of the parade first! Eventually we were all in place ready to start the parade! Sue even came with out her Get Smart Sunbeam to support the SCC! She got to ride in Bumblebee for her efforts!

Alex and Oscar finally found the right end of the parade, and all was fine, until we started up the cars to get moving down the street!  I looked back and saw Lou’s hood of his Starsky and Hutch Torino up, and Alex getting out some jumper cables!

Is Kitt Jumping Starsky and Hutch, or the other way around?

Another first for the day, we have all had to get a jump to start a car at some point, but have you ever seen KITT from Knight Rider and the Torino from Starsky and Hutch helping each other out?

I assumed Lou’s car needed a jump, I went back to check and heard it running, so ran back to my A-Team van as the parade was moving!

With Lou’s car up and running, Jason kept snapping photos, and found a few Cheerleaders who wanted a shot with John’s Bumblebee Camaro!  I think Bumblebee is smiling!

StarCars, Let's ROLL! Alex? ALEX?!?!

So we got the signal to start rolling, and we all start moving out, except Alex in his KITT from Knight Rider!  What? He never, NEVER breaks down.  Alex is always over prepared!  Should we leave KITT and take Alex? Leave Alex behind? Where’s Devon and Bonnie and the big Knight Rider Truck when you need them?

STARCARCENTRAL.COM ROLL OUT!

So the parade moves out, and so do we! Luckily the parade wasn’t moving too fast!  We inched forward, and while we waited to join the main parade, Alex had a talk with KITT and convinced him it would be good to start at this time.  KITT agreed, and joined the line up at the last minute!

Starsky and Hutch being followed by the A-Team?

Everyone lined up based on the age of the show they were from, oldest to newest!

"I love it when a VAN comes together!"

Herbie led the group today,  as the theme was “Christmas through the Decades”!  Even though The Love Bug has been in movies and TV shows spanning 50 years, the first movie  was from the 60’s so Jason was up first!

Herbie Rocks!

We could have had the Batmobile for the 60’s too, but I needed more seats for my kids “aka” Banner holders- so I brought my A-Team van instead!  The 70’s was all Starsky and Hutch,

No ticket for Herbie today! It's Lou!

and the 80’s were represented by The A-Team van, KITT, and Magnum P.I.

Is that Tom Selleck taking a photo of a guy taking a photo?

And bringing up the 2000’s was Bumble Bee from the Transformer movies!

As each car drives by, its fun to watch the faces light up as they recognize some old friends!  Each car has its fans, some people get it wrong (pointing at KITT) “It’s the Batcar!”  and the littlest kids stare blankly at all of us, then point to the end and scream “BUMBLEBEE!  Mom’s it’s bumblebee!”

Magnum P.I. and the A-Team working together? "I pity the fool they are after!"

It’s always fun to bring smiles to fans of our cars and it’s also fun to get together afterward and swap stories too!  A fun Christmas get together at a secret location where another starcar lies in wait to rise from the ashes, and a trip to see the long awaited Black Beauty near by topped off a fun star car day!

Next up, The BLACK BEAUTY!

Bonus MERRY CHRISTMAS PHOTO! WHERE’S JERRY BEEN LATELY?

HE’S BEEN HANGING WITH A DIFFERENT SHORTER CROWD FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON!

"HO, HO, HO? SANTA IS A SCC MEMBER!"

“THE CAR” rises from the dead again!

In 1977 Universal Pictures released “THE CAR” which starred a possessed  modified  1971 Lincoln Continental Mark III.  James Brolin was also in it. 🙂

“WWED” What Would EVIL Drive? THE CAR!

In the shadow of “JAWS” this movie was “Jaws with a car” and at the end of the movie, both original modified Lincolns were totaled.  One by rolling, the other was set on fire and shot over a high cliff to it’s doom.  But you can’t keep an evil car down!

So for several years, one fan has been working to resurrect the evil Lincoln, and he’s done it!

Making a full scale replica in steel is nearing completion!

Now all that’s left to do is find a devil worshiping group to curse the car, and it’s ready to go!

The 2 originals were built by Barris Customs for the movie, and above, George finally got reunited with this new SON of THE CAR!   If you want a CAR of your own, thanks to a SCC honorary member – you can get a fiberglass one for your very own! You just have to sell your soul!  And honk 4 times!

Hey, maybe this car was born from the original CAR and another famous TV car?  They say girls like the bad boys! My Mother the car starred Jerry Van Dyke and one of the first cars that was the star of a show!

There are at least two  “1928 Porters” out there, anyone know where we can find the screen used  “Mother”?

At last report, there was a 1928 Porter in Alberta Canada in a private collection, and one in a museum in Tennessee, but we want one that will tour with us in Southern California!

The 1928 Porter was an actual car, made from the parts of other cars from other makers! So if you do your research, you could in theory, put one together from parts of other old cars.

Starcar Trivia: The final death of THE CAR footage, was used to double for KITT in an episode of  Knight Rider shooting off a cliff!  watch it all or go to about 3:10 in to see the shot!

Extra Credit starcarcentral.com points for finding 2 other famous tv cars in the photos above!
