After connecting with a few owners of famous movie and TV cars in the “upper left hand” corner of the United States, I finally started introducing them to each other! Dee, who is a big Mad Max fan, and first wanted me to bring my batmobile to Oregon for a Mad Max event has started joining forces with Tod, who, along with his wife recently did a huge Fan Expo with her “Supernatural” Impala for Warner Bros and over 80,000 people came through the event.
Tod and his SCC area group have thrown down the gauntlet and are keeping track of the most movie cars in one place! He’s out to beat the Hollywood Chapter by beating our 25-27 cars in one photo last year!
I can tell Tod is on the same wavelength, he just loves seeing these cars together, and getting to know the owners who each had a passion to drive and own a certain movie car! His Deathproof Nova is sweet!
Then down in Arizona there is a great group of Movie TV car misfits that have just WAAY too much fun with their famous rides! They staged a “cannonball run” event, and now they have a Christmas cruise!
Here’s the info on the Dec. 18th event for charity!
Drive in for a toast of good cheer
To the holiday season and the coming New Year
Polish up your “sleigh”, pull ‘er out of the garage and join ECCO and DesertCruisers.com on the road for a festive Holiday Poker Run. Our drive starts in the Southeast valley as Local Motors hosts our kick off rolling holiday party on wheels, mini stops along the way and we end at the new Scottsdale Auto Museum in the Pavilions. There are five festive stops along the way to entertain you in holiday style.
Tour includes: goodie bag, route book, raffle ticket, lunch ticket, awards/prizes and lots of holiday cookies! Enjoy the “spirit” of the day with fellow car enthusiasts! Santa and his helpers will lead our drive, so we encourage you to decorate your vehicle or yourself! Prize awarded to best holiday themed car/driver, high/low hand and a few surprises! ECCO Elves, sponsored by Discover Classic Cars, will cheer you on and share kisses under the mistletoe. Tour price is $25 per vehicle and we kindly ask that you bring canned food items or unwrapped toys to help spread the holiday cheer!
Tour is limited to 100 vehicles, any make or model is welcome, including your daily driver. Your hosts for this event are Stephanie Finnegan/ECCO and Al Tracey/desertcruisers.com. Proceeds benefit Operation Homefront of Arizona. We look forward to sharing the snowless road with friends and your families! EAT, DRIVE and BE MERRY! Entry forms available at www.tourecco.com and www.desertcruisers.com
