San Diego Comic Con Star Cars! Green Hornet, District 9, and dark night bike!

Once a year there is the biggest baddest comic convention in the world, and that is the San Diego Comic con!   It’s not just comics, it’ movies, toys, costumes, statues, art, Television, web and gaming all colliding!  There is no way you can explain all that is there, so I won’t!  But I will share a few of the coolest star cars that will have to join the club in the future!

Let’s start with the most aticipated, the new improved GREEN HORNET BLACK BEAUTY starring Seth Rogan.  Well the great news is they used a 1966 Chrysler Imperial, just like from the original series!   It’s now sporting twin machine guns out of the hood, and lots of new extra’s that we will be able to see on the screen next year.

It sat on the floor, and waited under cover until the stars of the film came out for the big reveal!

Looks like they tubbed the back for those bigger tires, but over all it’s a great update of the original car.

Here’s a clip from youtube for the reveal!

I am not sure if we will ever get a Distric nine tank to join, but that would be cooltastic!

I am not sure, but this hover bike might be from the same movie…..

Of course Bumble Bee from the Transformers was there, I may just have to get a Yellow Camaro….  but that’s so last month!

Now for a “have you see that star car ever off the screen?”   trivia question, do you know what movie this star car is from?”

4th of July 2009 StarCarCentral Lake Forest Parade -Superfriends and famous cars!

Hey Star Car Central fans,

Our last event was on the 4th, down in Lake Forest California for their annual parade.  We were invited by Red Dot Films Producer Brandon Keyla.

Take a look at his short film about the members of that were in the parade!

After arriving early, lots of fans found us before the parade for photos, then it was down the roads of Lake Forest!

all the heros!

Who let this Joker drive KITT?

After Lou in his Starsky and Hutch Torino, he was followed by Alex in his Knight Rider KITT… that is one shiny black car!

Oscar drove his REAL Ferrari, and Brandon brought an extra “Magnum” to work the crowds, even though a few thought

he was supposed to be David Hassalhoff!

Paul dressed as Marty McFly for the first time, Reba was Jennifer, so Brandon could work the spectators as Doc Brown!

Herbie loves the attention....

Jerry drove his Herbie and “beep beeped” the fans along the way.  Many people ran out to get a shot of their favorite car or hero, as we made our way down the street.

But driver Brian kept Horace in line…. the batmobile watching his every move helped too.

A quick stop after the parade, but no place to park and let the fans get their photos, so everyone posed by the side of the road!

Seriously, Magnum P.I., Doc Brown, Lindsay Lohan, The Joker, The Hoff, SuperGirl, Capt. America, Wonder Woman and
Batman and Robin and off camera Marty McFly and Jennifer, Uncle Sam, a giant bee… oh yeah, and some pretty sweet cars too!
We did have to keep the Hulk away, he tends to “SMASH”.

Then over to Brian’s house for a BBQ and so everyone could check out everyone else’s car!

Before we left, Brian got “paid” for hosting the party, by getting a ride in everyones car!

Brandon, the instigator...

All thanks to Brandon finding our website and trying to top himself from last year where he did a “little” Indiana Jones tribute!

This could have also been titled:

“Lake Forest 4th of July Parade meets the worlds biggest Indiana Jones fan! ”

So why the big tribute to Indy? Well, Brandon is a bit of a fan of the films…. and made one himself.

I have a feeling this won’t be the last time this group of fans connect for an event….

Just so you don’t think me and my star car pals here in Hollywood are the only ones nutty for movie and TV star cars, I thought I would feature one of our “area chapters” of star car owners.

Michigan Star Cars get together when the weather permits, and the organizer of the get togethers name is really MICHAEL KNIGHT and of course he has a  KITT, but then he needed more so he got a  “zebra 3” Starsky and Hutch Torino!  Once the star car “bug” bites, it never lets go!

Other members that are pictured :  Terry is the owner of Herbie, Mel DRIVES the monkeemobile ON THE STREET (can you tell I LOVE this guy without meeting him? I would love to cruise in my batmobile with him around Southern California!)  Mel started with a Smokey and the Bandit Trans am, and then the  star car bug bit him hard (and his wallet)!!!!
Mark  shows up with his  general lee that was  from the recent movie.  The Star car bug got him as well, as the General wasn’t enough, so he bought the Burt Reynolds “boss hogg” caddy….. and he has 2 black beauties undergoing restoration-one  in Michigan where the group meets, and the other out here in Los Angeles.  (Is it going to STAY out here?) It may have a connection to our SCC group….

Here are a few photos from some of their get togethers, I just can’t stop staring at that Monkeemobile!  ON THE  STREET!  Mel is my STAR CAR OWNER of the month, for putting that on the pavement, and not behind ropes with all the fluids drained!  you go MEL!

100_4024100_4382[1] (2)IMG_1212monkey front

I am sorry, but seeing that coming down the street is just TOO COOL!   There are only 3-4 monkeemobiles in the world,

but there are a few builders out there putting them together, and even some molds, so someone in LOS ANGELES needs to

get one of these…. or Mel can move to Hollywood! The weather is great out here Mel, no rain, just sun, beaches…. 🙂

Mike has even found an A-Team van to show up!    MIKE has shown that one man with email and a phone, and a keen eye, can make a difference!

This months area chapter award goes to Michael Knight and his star car pals!  Keep them ROLLING!
